They're getting younger and younger...

I remember seeing LeBron James for the first time after picking up a copy of SI from the tiny AAFES store on Camp Morgan. I'd heard of him, but I still thought, "That kid is a junior in high school?" I can't even imagine holding up under that kind of pressure.

Six years later LeBron James is arguably the best player in the NBA. I've always marveled at the pressure he's under. Most child stars crack, but LeBron James seems to be legitimately holding up.

So tell me what to do with this guy?

I love this kid and I love it even more that his dad's like "I don't get it either." I hope he truly is mostly out of the picture.

As for your LeBron thoughts, I always thought EXACTLY the same thing. As in, when will he crack? I've never seen a hype machine like his and I know it would have been too much for me.

I do think there's something to having extraordinary confidence and certain other psychological qualities. Still, I would have bet against everything turning out the way it has.

Finally, my nerdy point to the reporter: V02 max is the amount of oxygen the body can consume over one minute...which is not exactly what he said. When out-of-shape adults do this test they often vomit afterward...it is not pleasant.
